CONTROVERSIAL OPINIONS
Statements that garnered a lot of attention in debate and the opposition to them. In response to a question about legal restrictions, UtahCowboy called for firearm law reforms, stating that citizens should not need a license to purchase a firearm. He said that however, when such a crime is committed, they should no longer have the capability to purchase them. --> This was controversial as several in the debate reacted with the “Nay” emote. Opposition to this statement included candidates like WilliamAddington, EmoTrash, and Krix. The main counter claims were that it gave criminals easier access to guns, and that it would be more difficult to regulate. Regarding voters, Kevvv brought up the allegations against the DRP from past election, in which there were allegations that new players had been taken advantage of to solicit votes. He questioned Krix if he would be doing the same alleged things he did in the past election. --> This was a controversial allegation before, and was thus argued on once again. Krix denied the allegations that he has taken advantage of new voters, stating that he always asks folks if they want to hear detailed platforms about the party. In response to a question regarding parties, The_MarxSisters used the phrase “rallying the troops” when explaining how parties can be useful. --> This was controversial as it brought up a confrontation on the alleged connections between the SPP and Red Army, causing quite a stir. WilliamAddington responded alleging that Marx had made the party sound like an army with the phrase. Krix then went on to claim that the SPP was a political wing of the “paramilitary”, Red Army. Marx, Kevvv, and 37 denied these allegations, with the counterclaim that the “evidence” presented by Krix was taken out of context, and that the Red Army was also a political organisation. Overall, the arguing about the Red Army was cut off as it was not relevant to the question at hand.
